Allyson Rose (she/her & they/them), MS, LPCC, LADC

Location: New Brighton (in-person & telehealth)

Specialties: Anxiety, Self-Esteem, Child & Adolescent Mental Health, Acute & Complex Trauma, Perinatal Mental Health, Sexual & Gender Health (LGBTQIA2+ Affirming, sexual & gender identity exploration, sexual health functioning, sex-positive support), Substance Misuse & Addiction, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and Relational Distress.

Client focus: Allyson provides psychotherapy to the lifespan. Individual therapy can be offered to school age children (5-6 years old), adolescents, and adults. When working with children 4 years old and younger, the most meaningful work often comes from a combination of individual therapy and parenting support, so on a case-by-case basis, Allyson may request the participation of a parent/caregiver when supporting someone in that age range.

Treatment approach: Strengths-based, person-centered, trauma-informed approach while utilizing Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT), Attachment Theory, Narrative Therapy, & Somatic/Body Focused Interventions.

Specialized Training: Allyson can provide chemical health assessments for those in need of treatment recommendations for substance misuse and addiction. She received training through the University of MN to best support gender creative and transgender children. Allyson is currently enrolled in a certification program through the Psychedelic Somatic Institute where she is learning to implement Psychedelic Somatic Interactional Psychotherapy (PSIP). PSIP is a form of body-focused psychotherapy that can treat mental and physical health distress. The legal use of ketamine and/or cannabis can be an aid to this work, though it is not a requirement. Allyson encourages anyone to reach out to her to ask questions about PSIP, or any other aspects of her work.
