Hi There,
My Name Is Jordan Vogt. I am a Psychotherapist who has completed my Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling specializing in Adlerian Counseling and Psychotherapy from Adler Graduate School. I specialize in treating, Mood Disorders, ADHD, Anxiety related Disorders, Obsessive-Compulsive and Related Disorders, Dissociative Disorders, Men’s issues, Trauma- and Stressor related Disorders, Resiliency, Life transitions and Adjustment, Grief, and Shame.
My professional philosophy is humanistic and poses to be optimistic in viewing the human experience. I stand on the position that I take Alfred Adler's Individual Psychology as the foundation for my own integrative approach; which is utilizing the various clinical modalities. These modalities are components of Rational Emotive Therapy (REBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Existential therapy, Coherence Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and being Trauma-Informed. Having individual psychology as the foundation to my integrative approach presses me to approach clients from a holistic, phenomenological, and teleological perspective.
My view of human nature, much like my professional philosophy, is seeing the potential of individuals fully realized; even if they may not see it themselves. I look for and seek out the potential that people have a choice to strive for something better within themselves that makes them as an individual have a greater meaning, but also the ability to strive for this within others around them, such as their community. People are constantly striving for a more superior, advantageous, or useful position to place themselves in within the context of their lifestyle. This positioning of oneself is referred to as "movement", or behavior. Individuals attempting to strive towards success and move away from feelings of inferiority come from deep learned movements learned from one’s early life. Such ingrained behavior becomes much of an individual’s core beliefs about how they view themselves, how others view them, and how they view the world. It is in this context that paints the picture of potential. Individuals are always in movement toward an end goal of some sort. It is because there is that innate desire that individuals have to move forward, and that there is also hope in people to want to move towards an ideal that satisfies a potential that they see within themselves, to where they are capable of bringing greater social harmony. As a counselor, it is critical in my role to help clients realize this within themselves and move clients toward their potential.
