Treatment approach: My approach to therapy is to first and foremost create a warm, nurturing, safe space for this work, and to meet each client where they are at, without judgment. I work primarily from a humanistic perspective, which means I believe that each person has the innate capacity to grow, create and love, and they have the ability to direct their own paths. I work with clients to guide them on that path by helping them to build self-awareness into how their thoughts, feelings and behaviors have impacted their lives. I believe that one of the most important parts of therapy is to develop insight and awareness into our inner selves, and only then can we start to effect changes in our lives. I also strongly believe that building self-compassion and self-acceptance is important in therapy, as the relationship we have with ourselves can greatly impact how we show up in other relationships in our lives.
I have several years of experience working in community mental health settings, including in-home therapy, ARMHS, and most recently within a community substance use treatment setting. I believe in a holistic view of the human experience, that everything is interconnected- and incorporate each area of wellness into my practice, including physical, social, spiritual and emotional health.
I would be honored to walk alongside you on your path to wholeness. Reaching out for support can be daunting, and it is a courageous step to take care of your mental health.
